The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) announced their Top Safety Picks for 2011, and Volkswagen leads all automakers with 9 models chosen for their performance during a variety of rigorous crash tests. Models which won included the Jetta, Jetta Sportwagen, Golf, GTI, Tiguan and the 2011 Touareg.
